This third ‘InspirEngage Skills Bootcamp’ was focused on Communication Skills and Social Engagement. Communication skills in its widest sense covering Speaking, Listening and Body Language, are essential Life Skills for anyone, and especially important in supporting the students to be able to pitch to secure funding for their projects!

Background of Project:
Following the riots in the Summer, a lot of communities are considering creative ways in achieving cohesion. InspirEngage International has partnered with Durham Police to deliver a long term and carefully designed programme across the Belmont area.

InspirEngage International is delivering a series of ‘InspirEngage Skills Bootcamps, which provide the students with necessary Life Skills, such as Identity, Leadership, Communication Skills and Project Management to launch their own creative projects to improve their community!

The local business owners are also involved acting as mentors and advisors to the young people, which also helps foster positive relationships. The young people will then get the opportunity to pitch their project to a Mega Panel to secure funding to implement their projects. This is a long-term pilot project spanning December 2011-June 2012.

“Durham Police is delighted to be working in partnership with InspirEngage International in providing Skills Development Bootcamps and assisting young people to carry out community based projects in the Belmont area of Durham. The overall objective being to improve community cohesion. The project is an innovative approach to problem solving in a location where the same behaviour has been ongoing for generations.

Melody is a consummate professional to work with. From the outset her creative mindset, drive and thinking “outside of the box” is inspiring. With this comes a great degree of structure and planning which I personally have found endearing. Her “can do” attitude is very quickly adopted by all that she comes into contact with and this project is reaping those rewards.

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the effect that Melody has had and I would unreservedly recommend InspirEngage International for similar projects that any Police and partner agencies are considering. You will not be disappointed and your community will thoroughly appreciate it.”

London School of Economics hosted this prestigious event to support their aspiring entrepreneurs.

The aim of the conference was to inspire and motivate the next generation of entrepreneurs through a series of keynotes, interactive workshops and panel discussions by some of the worlds leading entrepreneurs.

Melody Hossaini was asked to deliver a key-note, but true to InspirEngage form, we don’t believe in delivering one way speeches.

Melody’s contribution was interactive and innovative, provoking thought amongst the students by setting mini challenges, forcing the students to think as individuals.

We are looking forward to returning to LSE to deliver a full ‘InspirEngage Skills Bootcamp’ in the future!

“Melody’s keynote at Sparks was inspiring to say the least! – the interaction and connection Melody made with the crowd coupled with the valuable life skills and thought-provoking ideas she shared with the audience were an asset to the conference.

She has very much had an impact on my attitude and approach to a number of scenarios that I could face in life and as an aspiring entrepreneur, I can certainly say I finished the keynote feeling motivated and driven to change the world! I look forward to working with Melody on how we can extend the InspirEngage service further within the LSE; it really was an honour to meet such a talented woman with a passion to succeed in every aspect of life.”
Rajiv Dhokia. President Sparks@LSE – LSE Entrepreneurs

“I was present during you presentation during the Sparks LSE conference on Saturday and would say you were one of the best presenters during the day. I certainly had no idea I would be left spellbound and motivated.

It may have changed my life from here on out. THANK YOU. The world needs more people like you…and I aspire to be one of them.”

In Feb 2012, InspirEngage partnered with the Education Business Partnership to deliver ‘Social Enterprise Challenge 2012’. The students (who came together from different schools), were given a profile of a failing business and tasked to turn it around adding a social enterprise angle.

They then had to pitch it to a panel, with Melody Hossaini being the head judge.

Having previously seen innovative ideas being let down by poorer presentations, InspirEngage designed an interactive Skills Workshop on Communication Skills and Pitching. The workshop covered all elements of Communication Skills – Speaking, Listening, Body Language and Social Engagement.

The results were notable, with young people using very creative and engaging methods to present their enterprises.

“The annual Walsall Education Business Partnership Social Enterprise Challenge was delivered in partnership with Melody Hossaini, CEO of InspirEngage. Melody delivered a motivational Skills Development workshop aimed at preparing the students for their presentations, gave an inspiring talk about Social Enterprise and joined the panel of judges to choose the winning team.

Her obvious passion for Social Enterprise and her talent in developing young people contributed to a successful event and was deeply appreciated by all attendees. Walsall EBP look forward to working on a number of future projects with InspirEngage.”
